AUTOLUBRIFICATION

Friction coefficients can fall down to 0.02. The phenomena of bonding, either metal-metal (fretting corrosion), or rubber-metal (stick-slip) in aeronautics and hydraulics are solved.


ELECTRICAL INSULATION

Fluoropolymers can have an electrical insulation function and can also solve galvanic couple problems.


ANTI-ADHESION

MICROFLON® has lubricating and anti-adhesive properties, and it can either be self-sufficient, or complement conventional lubricants.


FRETTING CORROSION

Our means of reducing this corrosion are through the use of self-lubricating coatings; friction is thus reduced and oxygen is excluded from the surface.

In general any dry or lubricated part for which we want to increase durability, speed, performance, or for which we want to delay seizure or bonding.

 

MICROFLON® PROCESS and CHARACTERISTICS

Surface coatings made by fluoropolymer spraying (Teflon® PTFE, FEP…) in a wet process, in very thin layers on metallic materials. The products penetrates into the metal down to a maximal depth of 5 microns (substrate porosity is obtained mechanically) on finished pieces without remanufacturing after coating.The obtained allowance can go from 2 to 30 microns depending on the intended objective. Application after micro sandblasting to finally obtain pure Teflon coatings resulting in allowances that start at 3µ+/-1µ. It is even possible to adjust parts with a zero-clearance fit (bushel for aeronautics or space industries).

 

FRICTION COEFFICIENT: From 0,03 to 0,15

IMPORTANT
Low-temperature coating is possible (e.g. copper parts or elastomer). Some coatings need a thermal stabilization to avoid any post-treatment deformation. A hardening treatment is recommended, since it allows an increase in the durability of the Microflon® process.
