MICROFLON® PROCESS and CHARACTERISTICS
Surface coatings made by fluoropolymer spraying (Teflon® PTFE, FEP...),
in a wet process, in very thin layers on metallic materials.
The products penetrates into the metal down to a maximal depth of 5 microns
(substrate porosity is obtained mechanically)
on finished pieces without remanufacturing after coating.
The obtained allowance can go from 2 to 30 microns depending on the intended objective.
Application after micro sandblasting to finally obtain pure Teflon coatings, resulting in allowances that start at 3µ+/-1µ. It is even possible to adjust parts with a zero-clearance fit (bushel for aeronautics or space industries).
FRICTION COEFFICIENT : from 0,03 to 0,15
Low-temperature coating is possible (e.g. copper parts or elastomer).
Some coatings need a thermal stabilization to avoid any post-treatment deformation.
A hardening treatment is recommended, since it allows an increase in the durability of the Microflon® process.
